YOU'RE NOT ALONE: THRIVING THROUGH MENOPAUSE

Let's talk about this!
Let's talk about this!

As women, we’re used to juggling it all—leading teams, managing families, and striving for personal growth. But as we reach our 40s and beyond, something unexpected often joins the mix: the physical and emotional shifts of perimenopause and menopause.

Suddenly, brain fog, fatigue, and sleepless nights can feel like unwelcome distractions from our goals. It’s frustrating, isn’t it? But here’s the good news: these changes don’t have to hold you back. With the right strategies, you can navigate this phase of life with confidence and vitality—and even thrive.

Many career-driven women feel the pressure to “power through” symptoms like mood swings, low energy, and difficulty concentrating. But ignoring these challenges can lead to burnout—not just at work but in life.

Here’s the truth: menopause isn’t a weakness, and it’s not something to be ashamed of. It’s a natural transition that deserves attention, understanding, and tailored solutions.

Yet, too often, women in senior roles feel isolated, as though discussing menopause might undermine their authority or credibility. This silence only deepens the struggle.

Although I wasn't in the corporate world during these experiences, I was coping with grief, relationship challenges, shifting family dynamics, and the pandemic. I put on a brave facade as an Amazon warrior for my family, but internally, I was falling apart. I faced sleep difficulties, anxiety, and emotional fluctuations. Becoming certified as a health coach helped me comprehend the changes my body was experiencing. Rather than viewing menopause as something to fear, I was able to embrace it positively.

Here are some of the steps that helped me regain my energy and balance:

  1. Assessed my Nutrition

As menopause occurs, our body's nutritional needs change. I prioritized eating foods rich in protein, healthy fats, and essential vitamins like magnesium, Vitamin E, and B-complex. I added more vegetables to my meals, including spinach, bok choy, broccoli, cabbage, and pumpkin, which helped ease menopause symptoms. Furthermore, I started my mornings with a protein-rich smoothie or an omelette with greens.

  2. Changed the Way I Worked Out

As we age, exercise becomes increasingly important. Reduced estrogen levels lead to weaker bones. I have transitioned from high-impact workouts to strength training, uphill walking, and yoga. These activities help enhance my energy, elevate my mood, and reduce my stress levels. I became mindful also of including rest in between my days of workouts.

  3. Prioritized Sleep

I am still working on this but I make sure that I am in bed by 11PM with my room pitch dark. To make sure I meet this, I walk outdoors in the morning, and do my workouts as much as possible.

  4. Exposure to Sunlight

Being exposed to sunlight improved my mood and kept my energy levels up all day. By spending 15-30 minutes walking or jogging outside, I achieved two benefits at once. It prepares me for the day and also enhances my sleep.

Menopause doesn’t have to be a solo journey. Imagine being understood and where your support system “gets it.” This is the space I provide - where you can share stories, strategies, and get the support you need as you navigate this phase of life.

Menopause is not the end of your story—it’s the beginning of a new chapter, one where you can rewrite the narrative around your health and well-being.
